The situation with the Covid19 epidemic is ever changing. We are closely following the health protection Scotland guidance on a daily basis and will be making amendments to our policy on an ongoing basis.

1.  Advanced Planning: We have secured 100 x 500ml hand sanitisers. All attendees will be asked to use the sanitisers on entry and exit.
2.  Advanced Planning: Secure door entry system to ensure that patients are vetted before entry. Please do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before your entry time. You will be asked at the door if any parties have a cough or fever or recent contact with a patient with confirmed Covid19. We cannot permit entry to parties with the aforementioned symptoms.
3.  Our staff will be wearing appropriate PPE.
4.  We are encouraging card payments to reduce the chances of cross contamination however we are still accepting cash as a form of payment.
5.  This policy is to optimise the safety of our patients and staff.
6.  These are put in place so that you can attend with confidence that all possible measures that can be taken have been taken.
7.  Screening before you attend. If you book online all patients will be asked if they have a cough, fever, runny nose or any other coryzal(flu like symptoms).
8.  Patients with cough, fever with mild symptoms are being advised to isolate along with other members of their families for 14 days
9.  We are now adopting the policy of 4 people attending for each appointment (The client plus 3 guests, this includes any children). This will allow for social distancing measures between groups of patients in our waiting area.  Our seating has been arranged so you should not be in close proximity to other groups of patient.  You should wear a mask when you attend.
10.  This will be monitored and supervised by our reception staff.  We will allow video calling using WhatsApp video/FaceTime or similar video calling facility so your family members can share the experience.
11.  From a public health perspective you need to have the confidence that close monitoring is being carried out during the course of our clinic.
12.  We will be constantly working on our work flow to avoid any cross contamination between patients.
13.  Equipment and surfaces will be decontaminated between each patient.
14.  This policy will apply to each and every patient booked with Baby Scanning. The key is that we are consistent in our approach and there is no deviation to our plan. Unfortunately no exceptions to the policy can be made to ensure that infection control measures are effective.
15.  Given the scale of the pandemic the above measures are mandatory from immediate effect.
16.  Patients may feel that they wish to attend with large group of family members.  However Covid 19 is an airborne highly contagious virus. The higher the number of people attending and the closer the proximity between patients the higher the chance of cross contamination and therefore increased risk to our patients and staff.
17.  We have been in operation since 2005.  In 2008 we reviewed and implemented the flu pandemic guidelines. We were in operation during the swine flu epidemic in 2009 when we were the only baby Scanning clinic in Glasgow. We are well versed in dealing with such pandemics.
18.  Covid 19 is now in the community.  There is no testing being carried out in Primary Care.  Testing is only being carried out in secondary care.  Many patients will have mild self limiting symptoms.  Elderly patients and those with multiple co-morbidities are at higher risk of developing ARDS. If you contract the virus you will be putting your elderly relatives/friends and the elderly community at very high risk.
19.  If you have any queries you can phone us on 0141 221 2611.
(The client plus 1 adult guest, please do not bring any children or babies)
